Santa Barbara Business Expo

My friend Alison Toddhunter will be manning my Author's Table at Fess Parker’s Doubletree Hotel as part of the Santa Barbara Business Expo and Conference on Saturday, April 29 from 8 am to 2 pm. She will have paperback copies of WRITE! for sale there.  Anyone who buys a copy of  WRITE! will receive as a bonus a FREE novel from the list of books I wrote in the 70s, 80s and 90s.  These are overstocks from my former novel-writing days, With a VengeanceKeeper of the City, and Cheevey. Two thrillers and a coming of age story.

Creative Writing Workshop with Jerry DiPego

  • St. Mark's in the Valley Episcopal Church (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

This program is presented by Arts Outreach, and wine and snacks will be served as I build this evening of instruction around samples and exercises from my new how-to book called “WRITE!”

“WRITE” distills 45 years of my working and learning in creative writing for film, novels, stories and plays – and this seminar is a preview of the book, where I will cover some of the highlights, and breakthroughs in storytelling, character creation, research, language, all packaged in my own method of emotional realism – a way of bringing truth to our fiction. I will also make sure all your questions about the craft are answered and share some helpful tips and anecdotes. Let’s have fun with this!
